Today Germany claimed Gold in the individual competition in dressage sponsored by Julianelyst and presented by Skibby HC at the European Championships. 25 riders and ponies competed today as the second half of the individual championship. Danish rider Louise Christensen and Vegelins Goya was best of today’s riders and finished third in the final results. She claimed the bronze medal with a score of 74,073%. None of today’s riders could beat the impressive result from yesterday’s German rider Lucie-Anouk Baumgürtel and her pony Massimiliano who received 76,244%. Receiving silver in the final results was German rider, Inga Katharina Schuster and her pony NK Cyrill who scored 75,293% in yesterday’s test.
The best 18 riders of the final results have qualified for the freestyle, that will be held tomorrow morning at 10 o’clock.
Cross Country was a Success
Today the eventing riders were competing in the cross country part of the European Championships Eventing competition sponsored by Nathalie Horsecare. 41 competitors completed the test and at this point the leading rider is Calvin Böckmann with Askaban B, who has total score of 38,30 penalties after today’s ride. In second position is Anna Lena Shaaf with Pearl 98 also from Germany. She has a score of 41,40 penalties. At third place is Great Britain’s Saffron Cresswell with Cuffesgrange Little Ric with a score of 44,10 penalties.
In the Eventing Team competition there are eight teams competing, and at this time Germany holds the leading position with a total score of 130,60 penalties in front of France with a total score of 145,90 penalties. Third is currently Great Britain a total score of 148,70 penalties. Much can still happen, when the riders hit the show jumping arena tomorrow. The show jumping will determine who will receive the eventing medals in the individual and the Team competition.
Result of the Consolation Round
On the show jumping course the consolation competition sponsored by Eurowind has been completed. Only three riders completed the course with no penalties in the first and second round, and they placed as 1st, 2nd and 3rd in the competition. The winner of the consolation round was the Danish rider Christine Thirup Christensen with the pony Doon Laddie in 38,79 sec. Second came Sanne Sørlie with her pony Oldrock Megan from Norway. They cleared the course in 39,92 sec. 3rd was Germany’s Lars Berkemeier with Luna S who completed the course in 44,93 sec.
Tomorrow is the day of the final in the show jumping competition, here the gold, silver and bronze medals in the European Championships will be awarded.
